A record-breaker, who turned a penchant for football tricks into a globally successful career, is encouraging young people to explore their hidden talents and pursue the things they love.

Fixer and football freestyler Ash Randall (24) holds seven records in the Guinness Book of World Records for his unique footballing tricks, and has travelled all over the world to showcase his skills at festivals and on television.

Ash started practising freestyle football during his teens after trying to copy a video of a professional footballer completing a trick with a ball.

Ash would practice in his spare time before and after school, and soon people became interested in his hobby.

He thinks that many young people have lots of goals and talents, but they are not always encouraged to follow them.

‘People will doubt you whatever you do, and you will even doubt yourself at times when you follow something you love,’ Ash says.

‘But the only way to make a success of yourself is through hard work and dedication. People who say “you cannot do that” often have no self-belief themselves, but you should not let people like that pull you down.

‘You should do what you want, in a way that’s good for you,’ he adds.

Ash, from Cardiff, hopes to create a film which will show that young people can achieve anything they set their mind to.

‘I’ve found something I love and have stuck to it. I want to try to inspire other youngsters to embrace the things they’re good at, and keep aiming to make a success out of their talents regardless of who tells you that you cannot make it.’

His film is currently in the production stages.
