Sam Thomas is the founder and Director of Men Get Eating Disorders Too (MGEDT). He set up the charity in 2009, following his own experiences of bulimia.
Sam felt that being male was one of the reasons why he’d found it difficult to get appropriate support and in response, he launched the original MGEDT website with Fixers.
Since then he’s been raising awareness of male eating disorders and providing information and advice that it is specific to men’s needs.
Sam frequently talks about his experiences at conferences and in the media and has received a number of awards.
His work has been recognised with the Beacon Prize and at the Beat Awards, Talk Talk Digital Heroes Awards and the Sheila McKechnie Campaigner Awards.
