Campaign: To stop legal high misuse

My team and I want to stamp out legal high misuse in our local area.

All of us agree that this is one of the biggest issues facing our community and we think it would benefit both young and old alike to have these activities stopped.

We feel that people aren’t aware of the dangers posed by legal highs and want them to know the dangerous and potentially fatal side effects, as well as how it could affect their loved ones.

With the help of Fixers, we created a short film to show how devastating misuse of these drugs can be. We hope that by tackling this problem our community will become a safer and a better place to live.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Abbie Williams

Aimee Morgan

Chelsea Barlow

Christine Jones

Dafydd Tovey

Carla Caldecott

We'd like to thank Forsythia Youth Centre and  Merthyr Valleys Homes  for supporting us throughout this project. They have provided us with a free meeting space, assisted us with transport and are working with us to help launch the film.

March 2015
After we contributed to the National Assembly for Wales Health and Social Care Committee's inquiry into the use of legal highs last year, they've now published their report on new psychoactive substances. You can read the report here or click here to watch a video explaining the work that's taken place during the enquiry and summarising its results.

October 2014

Team members Carla Caldecott, Chelsea Barlow and Abbie Williams spoke to the National Assembly for Wales Health and Social Care Committee, as part of an inquiry into the use of legal highs.

They introduced our project and showed our Fixers film and we’re now hoping that the Welsh and UK Governments will consider using our film as part of a wider public health campaign.

An article about the information presented to the committee featured on Wales Online. You can read it here, or click on the image below to find out more about the meeting.
