Campaign: Raising awareness of brain tumour symptoms

Three years ago, my mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Had it not been detected – thanks to concerns from my brother – she would have been dead two weeks later.

The immediacy of this really shocked me. I found out about my mum’s tumour when I was travelling home from the funeral of a friend, and I immediately thought I would be saying goodbye to someone close to me once more.

Thankfully, my mum, Margaret, was scanned just in time. Thanks to this, surgeons successfully removed her tumour and she is now living a normal life again.

But it did trouble me and my family, and that is why I am now using my experiences to create an advertising campaign which will highlight the symptoms of brain tumours.

Brain tumours are rare, but can be fatal. If young people know the signs, perhaps they can save a friend or loved one.

Thanks must go to my brother Liam Moss, who is also helping with this Fix.

I want to thank David Carroll, who assisted me in my broadcast piece by talking about his experience with a brain tumour, saying:

'Noel's film is extremely important as it will enable people to understand about brain tumours and show people how they can help sufferers.'
