Name: Kirstie Greer
Age: 19
Year of the Fix: 2017
Location: Bangor, County Down
Campaign: To show a 'one size fits all' approach to mental health doesn't work

I was diagnosed with autism when I was 14 and had a lot of difficulties moving from children's into adult mental health services.

At times it seemed I didn’t fit certain criteria and people didn’t know where to put me. I got quite depressed. I just felt low.

The support needs to be coordinated.

It’s important to look at people as individuals and try to understand their differences.

Mental health is so much more difficult to define and deal with as opposed to physical health and no two people are the same, which is what I want to get across.

Ken Smyth, Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People, and Connor Mcauley from Kaizen Print, supported me with this Fix.
