Campaign: To help end child marriage

In films, weddings are always such a pretty thing.

But for child brides, the reality can be very different.

Young girls forced into marriage often don’t understand the implications. They can feel a part of the celebrations, but what comes next is unexpected.

In the developing world, 1 in 3 girls are married by their 18th birthday, but I want to make others aware that young girls become child brides here too.

British girls can be taken out of school by their families and forced to travel abroad to be married.

It also happens within communities in the UK that we don’t always hear about. They’re smaller communities that are very hard to get into.

With Fixers, my team and I are planning to put on a street performance to raise awareness of child brides.

I hope that this will get people talking about the issue so we can all work together to end child marriage.
