Campaign: To encourage employers to give those with a criminal record a fair chance

As part of my job, I try to help female ex-convicts into employment and I know how hard it can be for many of them to feel accepted in society.

One of the biggest barriers they face is finding work and getting employers to trust that they are reformed characters.

It’s my view that these young people are negatively judged and should be given a fair chance to prove themselves in the workplace.

With the help of Fixers, my team and I aim to show employers how important it is to give everybody an equal opportunity without being prejudiced.

Everyone deserves a second chance in life!

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Anissa Ahmed

Helen Burkinshaw

Megan Hughes

Nazia Kabir

Sophie Best

Verity Popovic
Denise Mclean
Parece Walker

Together Women Project

The team at the Together Women Project support our Fix. Jackie Offord- Hardcastle, a Senior Worker with female offenders, agreed to be interviewed to appear in my broadcast piece.

Thank you to Jessica Richardson and Sharon Lowth, who also supported the project. They both featured in the broadcast item when our Fixers film was being screened.
