Campaign: To encourage young people with mental health conditions to pursue their goals

I know what it’s like to live with a mental health condition as I’ve experienced both anxiety and depression.

To help me deal with it, I’ve pursued my interests. Keeping active boosts my mood and doing things I enjoy gives me a sense of self-worth.

I’m now at university furthering my education, and I’m doing things over the summer, like volunteering abroad.

With Fixers, I’m launching a campaign to make sure that others with mental health conditions have similar opportunities.

I want to tackle the stigma attached to mental health. I hope that by doing so, young people will find the confidence they need to achieve their goals.

Allison Weir is helping me with my Fix.

July 2014
On Thursday 17th July I was invited to the Senedd to talk to the Children’s Commissioner and his office about my experiences of mental health services in Wales.

I travelled to the home of the Welsh Assembly with Sarah Harmon, who appears in the photo with me below.

We were both able to speak about our Fixers projects, how we’re benefiting from them, and how we hope they will help others.
